Pre-Conference Information

Are you an early bird? Interested in learning more about KASFAA, having an opportunity to earn NASFAA credentials, or both? If so, take advantage of the pre-conference activities at the fall conference. First-time KASFAA conference attendees are invited to participate in the New Member Workshop. Other KASFAA conference participants can take advantage of some pre-conference NASFAA U topics.

New Member Workshop

The New Member Workshop will cover topics such as the ABCs of Financial Aid, Who is KASFAA?, Volunteering & Association involvement, Student Eligibility, and Federal Methodology. The Federal Methodology session is a NASFAA U session—participants will be provided a voucher for complimentary access to the credential test for that topic. Lunch will be provided and will also afford attendees an opportunity to meet members of KASFAA’s board. The workshop is free to conference attendees and open to new members and first-time attendees.

NASFAA U Training Sessions

KASFAA conference attendees can take advantage of NASFAA U training sessions prior to the opening session at no cost beyond their one-day or full conference registration fee. Topics to be offered include: Need Analysis, Return of Title IV Funds, Administrative Capability, and Campus-Based Programs. Three additional topics will also be offered throughout the conference as breakout sessions: Cost of Attendance, Packaging, and Professional Judgment. Participants will be provided a voucher for complimentary access to the credential test for each session they complete. See the conference agenda for specific times for each topic. Lunch will be on your own.

NASFAA U Authorized Training

Participants will receive a voucher for complimentary access to each credential test they have qualified to take. The test should be downloaded from the NASFAA Store within a few days of training.

  • Participants must take the test(s) within 3 months of completing the authorized event.
  • Participants do not have to be NASFAA members; however, they must create a myNASFAA account in order to register for and take the credential test(s).
  • Each test voucher includes two attempts to successfully complete the test.
