KASFAA  2022 Spring Conference

President's Welcome
Welcome KASFAA Members! The KASFAA Program Committee invites you to attend the Spring 2022 in-person conference, "Not All Heroes Wear Capes". The conference will be held April 13-15 at the Clarion Hotel in Lexington. The Program and Training Committees have worked hard developing interesting and useful sessions. COVID safety protocols have been prescribed to keep members safe. We realize that protocols may change by conference time due to shifts in infection rates and guidance from health professionals. Our goal is to make sure everyone feels safe to attend.

We are pleased to welcome keynote speaker, Alison Begor, for our opening session focusing on work-life balance on Wednesday. We are also happy to welcome guests from sister organizations to the conference: Florida State President-Elect, Nadine Bailey and SASFAA President Celena Tulloss who will deliver the SASFAA update and present sessions.

Don't miss our pre-conference activities. The New Aid Workshop will be offered Wednesday morning. It provides our new aid administrators an opportunity to enjoy a comprehensive introduction to the financial aid profession. NASFAA U sessions will be offered as well. On Wednesday, we will offer four NASFAA U courses: Professional Judgment, R2T4, SAP, and Student Eligibility. Friday afternoon sessions will not be offered in recognition of Good Friday.

Wednesday night’s dinner is on your own, but please stop by the President’s reception for appetizers while catching-up with old friends or making new friends. Make sure to visit our Vendor Sponsor representatives to thank them for their loyal support of KASFAA!

Join us for Thursday’s Business Meeting Luncheon to hear the SASFAA Update, discuss KASFAA business, applaud recipients of KASFAA service recognition awards and enjoy the conference chicken we have all missed so much! Come back Thursday evening after dinner on your own for BINGO and prizes to support our conference charity, CASA of Lexington. CASA volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in the family court systems of Fayette, Bourbon, Woodford, Scott, Jessamine and Garrard counties. Please join us in backing this worthwhile organization!

Finally, gather with us on Friday for a breakfast buffet, our charity donation presentation, the KHEAA Update and Federal Update to finish our conference agenda.

Registration for the full conference is $145 for members. Once again, KASFAA will offer a one-day conference rate. You are welcome to choose the day you wish to attend and pay only $95 plus membership dues to attend all functions and sessions that day. We hope this enables more members to participate in our conference.

Conference registration is now open! The hotel group rate is only $104.00 per night plus tax includes breakfast buffet in hotel restaurant. You must make your reservations by April 1. Reserve your room now by calling toll-free 1-859-233-0512. Be sure to mention the group name “KASFAA Meeting” to receive the group rate.

We look forward to spending time with you in Lexington!
