Our Story

At the February 1967 Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA) meeting, Kentucky delegates discussed the emerging need for a state-level association. On May 29, 1967 Chairperson Barry Dixon (Centre College), Charles Day (University of Louisville), James Ingle (University of Kentucky), and Ruth Eberling (Catherine Spalding College) drafted a proposed constitution for the Kentucky Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (KASFAA) at Catherine Spalding College in Louisville, Kentucky. In November 1967, the committee invited state aid administrators to become annual members of KASFAA for $4.00. The KASFAAA membership elected the first Executive Committee (1968-1969) in May 1968. Business meeting minutes show 24 total members and an operating fund of $112.80.
